You know the feeling…. don’t want to get out of bed, don’t want to go to school, don’t want to do your chores or tidy your room…actually, you don’t feel like doing anything.

And when this feeling starts to drag on for a week or 2, it can become a little unsettling. In fact, you start to wonder what’s the point of anything. It starts to erode your confidence, your drive, your joy.

That’s why it’s super important to find your different, your purpose…

My purpose?

We’re not talking about the meaning of life …. we’re talking about finding the stuff you love, the thing that intrigues you, and makes you want to do more and learn more about it.  It’s the thing that gives your life meaning.

Why should I care?

Finding what we love in life can help us deal with day to day challenges because it gives us something to look forward to and to focus on. It can make the rest of our life feel better. It gives us a reason to get up every day.

More reasons why your purpose matters

Did you know that spending time on an activity that we really like can improve our mental health and wellbeing? Research shows that people feel happier and more relaxed, and are less likely to suffer from stress, low mood, and depression.

It’s also a great way to spend time and unwind from our daily routine.

And believe it or not, it can make you feel better the next day.

So what does this ‘thing’ look like?

It’s not only a hobby or just a purpose; it’s more. Kind of a combo of both – it’s interesting for you, and it’s something that means something to you.  It doesn’t matter how big or small, or even if you’re the only one doing it.  And it certainly doesn’t have to relate in any way to what you want to do or be in the future (most of us don’t know what that is anyway).  It’s something that gives your life meaning right now.  Something that brings you satisfaction or joy – even when everything else around you might be getting you down.
